Who we are...
We are lifelong community outreach advocates, mental health professionals, mentors and education specialists. We are not here to "fix" people, we are here to walk with them through trauma recovery, experiencing their unique plights with empathy and love. We live with them, care for their families with them, and understand that their healing is our healing. We don't just teach, we go on a journey with people from a place of non-judgment because we have a deep understanding of mental health disorders caused by systemic oppression and we are committed to turning trauma into mental, physical and spiritual prosperity.
How we got here...
Havens is a Direct Action Organization of Black Silicon. The creators of Black Silicon are the perfect example of the unsung heros; the true nonprofits. The people that sacrifice their lives to help us because if one of us is chained none of us are free. Immersed in the reality of systemic illness, Chris Clay marveled at his Mother Lisa Clay's community outreach programs that stretched from housing the houseless in her own family's home, to organizing community awareness, awards, parades, marches and political movements. She wanted to cure the systemic illnesses and knew that houselessness, addiction and domestic violence were all just symptoms.
Where we're going...
We envision a worldwide network of Havens Family Centers and Havens Vibe Centers thriving and healing together as a lifestyle, culture and global community. Our online platform and holistic approach are designed to be sustainable and self replicating. Our framework is built to scale rapidly. Those of us who come for our own healing are given the best tools and education to in turn, heal others. We provide the means to continue the work that needs to be done, naturally embedding our centers with the kind of revolutionary love and advanced practices that disrupt the mind industry as a whole.
